Some, like torbie, are a combination of two patterns (tortoiseshell and tabby), and others are seen in just one breed, like the black grizzled tabby pattern of the Chausie. If you look closely, you'll see different bands of color down the length of the cat's hairs. We’ve explored some common rare colors and patterns, but cats come in many more rare colors and patterns. Agouti (Ticked): Most tabby cats will have agouti hairs as part of their pattern.Spotted: The Ocicat and the American bobtail are good examples of spotted tabby patterns, although some moggies will also demonstrate this color pattern.They will have a darker color in spots running in two lines across their tummies (called "vest buttons"). Classic: This pattern usually has whorls ending in a "target" on the side of the cat. Grey cats are very distinctive and less common than tabby cats or black cats, but they are not especially rare. Pure white cats exist, but the most common way to see white on a cat is in a bicolor patternpatches of white with another color.
